Similar to 
Gioele's preference for 
Coffee, this one gives Ian a nice 
boost when eating his own fruit. Useful in the midgame once all trees are planted, or if you find alien fruit early. Especially if those do not do much besides cure diseases, Ian himself can still get good value out of them.
This skill is especially valuable with a 
Bumpjunkin farm, as the 
Jumpkin always restore 3 , bringing the total gains to 5 per fruit. As the Jumpkin can sometimes be bought in the Vending Machine, a Frugivore Ian can essentially 'buy himself to victory'.
