Eleesha is an investigative journalist for SNC (Sol News Channel). She managed to obtain the medical files of several financial and political leaders in the Federation, proving their Mush infection. After her report was taken off the air, Eleesha fled to Jupiter for fear of being eliminated. She revealed all this to the crew of the Daedalus and is currently on board posing as a mechanic.
How to play
Bronze
Tracker: Eleesha's unique skill, Tracker's many bonuses make it absolutely essential for investigative Mush Hunting and is the only way to print The List. Take this unless all other Technician characters had aneurysms and picked other skills.
Technician: Would've been your best skill if it wasn't for Tracker. Unlike Tracker, however, Technician's usefulness doesn't rely on the presence of Mush; free
points and the ability to dismantle objects keep this useful throughout the game.
IT Expert: While this versatile skill's
points allow you to dabble in pretty much any field on the ship, it is generally not worth picking over Tracker; Eleesha's dedicated hunter role is more important than being an all-around assistant.
Observant: This would augment your Mush-hunting role... if you weren't Bronze. Not worth picking over anything that isn't Determined.
Determined: Absolutely not worth taking as Bronze... or as anything else. It's easily one of the lousiest skills in the game.
Polymath: If you only get one skill, IT Expert is already better.
Silver
- Unless for some reason the Mush are already dead, the only consideration with Silver players is which skill should be taken in addition to Tracker, which also determines what role you're primarily going to play on the ship.
Tracker /
Technician: Allows you to be an invaluable member of the team from the beginning to the end. In most cases, this is your best bet.
Tracker /
IT Expert: Is especially useful if the ship already has a Technician and your
Paola is inactive or your ship urgently requires help in Lab Research.
Tracker /
Observant: An investigative Mush hunter powerhouse. A good combination if your ship is extremely active and thus doesn't need help in any area, therefore allowing you to focus solely on swiftly erradicating the mush.
Tracker /
Polymath: An alternative to the above if you really need the extra channels.
Technician /
IT Expert: A rather magical combination of skills that allows you to be very useful in NERON projects, Lab Research and PILGRED repairs. However, this completely forfeits your Mush-hunting role. The best choice if you're a cured ex-
Mush.
Gold
- You should definitely drop
Determined, as it is by far the least useful skill.
Gold players, being active as they usually are, may find the combination of
IT Expert and
Polymath attractive.
Mush
- The most dangerous thing about a Mush Eleesha is that she is the detective who is supposed to find the Mush. If she infiltrates the Mush hunt, the Mush team will have an eye on how much the humans know. They can use this to time strikes, sneakily convert trusted humans, or even sow paranoia and implicate unlucky humans.
- Eleesha is expected to move around the ship a lot while investigating, and to find hidden items if there are any. This can be quite an advantage.
- Her word on being able or unable to print THE List decides if the ship is declared "Mush-free". This can be crucial in a Mush plan to infiltrate Sol or Eden. Which is why smart humans may not take her at her word without proof of her humanity.
Useful tips
- Eleesha is high up on the succession list on both the
Communications Officer and the
NERON Administrator titles. You should be familiar with these roles, should you end up holding them.
-
Janice can cure your
Chronic Vertigo if she has the
Shrink skill.
- Be wary of this when
Mush, though, as the treatment message has a small chance to give you away!
- Be wary of this when
- It helps to snag the
Anti-Grav Scooter as soon as possible, as it will help you immensely with your job of snooping around the Daedalus. You may need to share with
Terrence, due to his disability.
- Using the AstroPad userscript will make your job of checking and categorizing the ship inventory a lot easier.
- Consider copying down all the room logs you come across before they expire. You'll never know when you might need them again.
Biography
- 3124
- Born on Earth.
- 3132
- Death of Daryn Williams, Eleesha's father, in suspicious circumstances during an expedition on Tamina. The family were only given a few details regarding his death. As she grew up, Eleesha became convinced that he was still alive.
- 3140
- Eleesha studied computer science at university in Mexico. She got good grades, but spent most of her time searching for information on the Tamina incident on the school's network. She eventually discovered that every member of the expedition team in question disappeared, which seemed to support her theory.
- 3141
- Eleesha showed the results of her research to a friend who suggested she make a documentary for the SNC. Eleesha accepts and spreads her findings throughout the world of space exploration..
- 3142
- When going through her research data, Eleesha managed to locate Zhong Chun, the only surviving member of the Tamina exploration medical corps. Zhong told her that she had been present, and witnessed first hand the agony suffered by the team. Eleesha learns for certain that her father actually died on Tau Ceti, and now wants to know why.
- 3143
- Interview with Kim Jin-Su upon his return from the Tau-Ceti expedition. Eleesha questioned the famous explorer thoroughly, but he denied having any information about the events. This sequence marked the end of her documentary which was broadcast the following year by the SNC.
- 3144
- The documentary made the citizens of Earth aware of the opacity of the Federation's expedition system. Faced with this crisis, the minister for space exploration resigned from his post and was replaced by the explorer GL Maubrick. In continuing her research into the Tamina incident, Eleesha began compiling a report into working conditions in the mines.
- 3145
- Following the rebellion on Tau-Ceti, Eleesha had to cancel her trip. Throughout the years, she will report on the events of the war on Sol in sometimes dangerous situations.
- 3146
- An unplanned parachute jump whilst following a team of SDF paratroopers, resulted in Eleesha developing an abject fear of flying. Every flight she takes has now become a genuine ordeal which doesn't make her job as a journalist any easier.
- 3147
- Fortunately, Eleesha stumbled upon the work of biologist Finola Keegan. The descriptions of observed myceliums named Mush were identical to those of Chun. She got in touch with Finola immediately and set about publishing her findings on the SNC. Her report was broadcast for the most part, but Maubrick considered Eleesha a dissident and neutralised the effect of her work by producing a series of broadcasts which ridiculed the work of these women.
- 3149
- After the uprising on Ross154, the federation finally accepted the Mush theory but became stricter when dealing with dissidents. Finola and Eleesha are put under constant surveillance, but nobody interferes with their research.
- 3150
- Eleesha escapes from SDF surveillance and manages to sneak in to an official office at Valparaiso. There she discovers incriminating documents proving that a Mush alert was declared on the 4th of January 3150 within the federation itself. According to these figures, the number of infected and the spread of the disease is dizzying, and President Maubrick is clearly involved. The fact that there has been no subsequent action taken to this alert is particularly worrying to Eleesha who tries again to air a report on the subject. When this one is taken off the air at the last minute, she realises that it is too late, and the only choice she has left is to flee.
- 3152
- After two years of civilian life, Eleesha joined the crew on Xyloph-17. She met the Daedalus team to whom she told her secret. Kim Jin-Su, leader of the project, offered her a space aboard the ship. Eleesha accepts, but still doesn't trust the man she still believes to be responsable for the Tamina catastrophe.
- 3152
- Eleesha really wants Finola to join the team. She managed to build a Mush detector which would allow for any mistrust in the team to quickly be dealt with. Unfortunately Finola declines.
- 3153
- Finola finally lands on Xyloph-17. Handcuffed. Eleesha is up in arms about their methods, but secretly hopes that she is capable of building a detector herself.
- 3154
- Following a regrettable diplomatic error, the federation takes control of Xyloph-17. Eleesha takes part in the expedition to retake the Daedalus in order to flee. Once they are in orbit, the team decides to fly the ship towards the Magellan cloud. Eleesha is cryogenically frozen for the first time in her life.
