Besides doing a LOT of damage to the Mush, which easily overcomes protecton, this weapon has the unique ability that it does less damage to humans.
This can be used to reliably identify the latter (if there are no injuries) by the relatively small amount of healing required after a hit, or the amount of actions shown by Chao's 
Torturer ability.
Use with care, however: The Natamy Rifle can cause up to 3 injuries in one shot, even to humans, and can also cause instant death by headshot, especially with a 
Shooter using it.
And people will not be happy about you gambling with their lives.
