The Superfreezer can be used to Hyperfreeze perishable food so that it becomes non-perishable.

Cooked Rations and 
Alien Steaks are transformed into 
Standard Rations. The risk of getting a disease is removed for Alien steaks.
- Other perishable consumables (such as fruits) gain the
Frozen status which halts their decay.
Consumables keep their current decay status when hyperfrozen, meaning you can't un-decay them.
