For me, the crewmate for project with diplomat gave a gold project. After choosing that option, the trader left.

I think the trader will always leave after a trade is completed. I don't think I've ever seen a gold project offered before, though. AFAICT on my ships this has always yielded a single standard NERON project. But I've never seen the trade done with a diplo on the bridge. --Zyzzyvette (talk) 02:42, 2 June 2017 (UTC)

My ship just did a crew-for-project trade and got a gold project (Jukebox) *without* having a diplo in the bridge. However, we did have a botanist on the bridge... if that matters? --Zyzzyvette (talk) 19:18, 17 July 2017 (UTC)
