Origins

1 x Produced by adult, healthy, watered Icon Bumpjunkin each Cycle 1
1 x Purchased via Vending Machine for 4 Klix Klix (only during October/Halloween)

Jumpkin are fruits produced by each adult Icon Bumpjunkin at the beginning of Cycle 1, provided that it is not Plant diseased.png Diseased, Plant thirsty.png Thirsty or Plant dry.png Dried Out.

A Jumpkin can be consumed and gives 3 Action Point, 1 Health Point, 1 Morale and 0 satisfaction.

  • Due to the 0 satisfaction and the ammount of Action Point given when consumed, it is a great plant to eat on handfuls if you need a lot of energy suddendly. It doesn't stop hunger though, so keep some Icon Standard Rations on hand for later days.

A Jumpkin can also be planted in an empty Icon HydroPot: it will immediately create a Plant youngling.pngYoung Bumpjunkin, which will quickly grow and make its own daily production.

On long running ships with plenty of Bumpjunkin plants is where a Icon Frugivore Icon Ian really shines. He gets 5 Action Point per eaten Jumpkin, and just with the base pots onboard and NERON project Extra Hydropots researched they will have 8 HydroPots, which means 8 Jumpkin = +40 Action Point a day, enough for him to research, relay, and repair everything. Despite of this, he is expected to share with Icon Janice Kent some of the Jumpkin due to the lack of characters to raise her Morale.

As all other perishable consumables, if the FoodStuff Destruction setting on the BIOS is turned ON, the Jumpkins will be destroyed on day change (as with all other fruits, they are produced after NERON destroys the food from the day before). Given the importance of this fruits, keep this setting always OFF.
